about

“It’s Always Gonna Rain'' serves as the prelude to Doug Keller And The Dubbed Subs debut album, “Broom Room: Or How I Learned To Stop Caring And Love The Boss”. This track explores the album’s themes of existentialism and change in the form of a conversation between two concert goers. Musically its garage rock tone is influenced by 80/90’s alt acts like Pixies and Camper VanBeethoven to modern bands like Fontaines DC. The song was engineered and mastered by frequent collaborator Justin Nazario at Sound Splitter Studios.

lyrics

You know it’s always gonna rain
Yes it’s always gonna rain
Whatever you do, it’s always the same

There’s a storm coming down
Are we in the eye or in the clouds?
Who can say, but it’s going to rain.

What did you say?
Are you feeling ok?
What did you say?
Are you feeling ok?

You know the world is gonna change
Yes the world is gonna change
But not tomorrow, and not today

You’ve got to burn it down
Only the smoke can pierce the cloud
What did you say? Are you feeling ok?

What did you say?
Are you feeling ok?
What did you say?
Are you feeling ok?

Isn’t it weird that we were even born into this place?

Can we ever really change,
Can we ever really change,
Are we doomed to remain the same?

Does it even matter at all?
Does it even matter at all?
The galaxy is large, and we’re so small.

What did you say?
Are you feeling ok?
What did you say?
Are you feeling ok?

Isn’t it weird that we were even born into this place?
Isn’t it weird that we can even kill in his name?

Isn’t it weird that we were even born into this place?
Isn’t it weird that we can even kill in his name?
